Dr. Patwary is a Professor of Biology and the Director of over one million dollar NIH funded Student Research Support programs. A past Dean of Science for 15 years at the Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York and in this capacity he oversaw the construction and purchase of multimillion dollar equipment and furniture for the $247 million dollar science building. He completed three Executive leadership Training programs including a certificate in Leadership in Higher Education program from Harvard University. He received biotechnology training from Rockefeller University, NIH, Johns Hopkins, NYU and Cold Spring Harbor lab. Dr. Patwary received numerous awards of excellence and acclamation for his teaching, research, and professional and community leadership, which span over 50 years, some of them are Fulbright Senior Specialist award, American Society for Cell Biology Visiting Professorship Award, Commonwealth Universities Academic Exchange Fellowship, Eminent Botanist Award, National Role Model Award (USA) and in 2006 recognized as “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”. He served several leadership positions, some of these are Secretary, the Dhaka University Teachers Association, Member the Dhaka University Syndicate and Senate, Secretary General Bangladesh Botanical Society, President Halifax (Canada) Student Housing Society, Chairman of Jamaica Muslim Center Board of Trustees, Chairman of A-Mamoor School Board of Directors, President of International Society of Bangladesh-Affiliated Microbiologists, Founding President of Al-Mamoor Foundation, Inc. Professor Patwary served multiple times as the Chairman of the JMC Election Commission, the JMC BOT-EC Selection Committees, and the JMC Constitution Committees, chairman of several executive Search, institutional Taskforce and Dean’s Committee.. He has been teaching and conducting research for over fifty years starting at Dhaka University in 1975 and published many research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and also co-authored several books, book chapters and review articles. He served as an External Examiner of several M.Sc, Ph.D. and D.Sc. dissertations. Dr. Patwary received his M.Sc in Botany from the University of Dhaka in 1972, Ph.D. in Genetics from Dalhousie University, Canada in 1982 and his postdoctoral research at the National Research Council Canada.
Nazmul H. Khan, MD,
Founding Secretary and Trustee
Dr. Khan is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including NYC Health and Hospitals-South Brooklyn Health and Flushing Hospital Medical Center. He has a medical office in Jamaica, NY where he has been practicing physician for over 20 years. His practice includes treating chronic diabetes, coronary artery disease, and chronic high blood pressure, among other conditions.
Dr. Khan has been active in the Jamaica Muslim community for many years. He served as the President of BMNA (Bangladeshi Medical Society of North America) a member, Vice-Chairman and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jamaica Muslim Center. He is currently serving as the President of JMC, a Director of Al-Mamoor School Board and a member of the AMS Staff Search Committee.
Mohammad Siddiquie, CPA
Treasurer and Founding Trustee
Mr. Siddiquie is a graduate of Baruch College of the City University of New York. He is a Certified Public Accountant with over nineteen years of experience serving not-for-profit organizations by providing financial statement audit and consulting services. He is married with three wonderful children all of whom attend Al-Mamoor School. He served as the Assistant Treasurer of Jamaica Muslim Center and currently serving as the Finance Director of Al-Mamoor School Board and a member of the ASB executive committee
Abul Rafiuddin Monju, MSc.
Founding Trustee
Mr. Abul Rafiuddin Monju received his B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics and Electronics from the University of Dhaka. He started his career as a Pakistan Central Government official. After independence he continued serving as an official in Bangladesh for several years before he migrated to the USA. He is a community activist as he served as the General Secretary of Jamaica Muslim Center, member of the Jamaica Muslim Center Board of Trustees and the Chairman of Al-Mamoor School Board of Directors.
Mohammad M. Rahman Tuhin, MD.
Founding Trustee
Dr. Rahman is the Chairman of the Jamaica Muslim Center Board of Trustees, who previously had also served as of the President of the same organization. Dr. Rahman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Care Medicine. He is also serving as an attending physician at NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Rahman has been a practicing physician in the USA for 23 years. He has medical offices in Jamaica and Astoria where he practices medicine. His clinics also provide laboratory, sonogram, EKG, Flu shots, and Hajj vaccine.
Mohammad S. Taher Pharm D., R Ph.
Founding Trustee
Mr. Taher, R.Ph received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Long Island University. He is a registered pharmacist and owns his own pharmacy business. He had served as the President of the Bangladeshi American Pharmacist Society(BAPA), President of the New York City Pharmacist Society(NYCPS. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the New York City Pharmacy Association Board, the Executive Director of Al-Mamoor School Board, Alumni Board of LIU, Executive Board Member Pharmacist Society of the State of New York and a Trustee of Jamaica Muslim Center. Currently, he is chairing the AMS Campus Safety Committee. His child attends Al-Mamoor School.
Mohammed Saleh, MS,R Ph.
Founding Trustee
Mohammed Saleh, M.S., R.Ph. is a Pharmacist by profession. He is a member of Board of Overseers, Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy of LIU and a member of Pharmacy Advisory Board of Medicaid, New York State. He is a former President of the Long Island Muslim Society, the Empire State Pharmaceutical Society and the Bangladeshi-American Pharmacists’ Association. Presently, he is serving as a human rights commissioner of the Nassau County Human Rights Commission, New York.
Syed Abu Muzaffar, MS,R Ph.
Founding Trustee
Syed Abu Muzaffar, R.Ph is a registered pharmacist. He owns and operates his own pharmacy business. Syed received his B.S. in Pharmacy degree from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, his B.S. degree in Pharmacy and M.S. degree in Industrial Pharmacy both from Saint John’s University, Queens, New York. He has been very active in community service. Syed served as a Director as well as the Executive Director of Al-Mamoor School Board of Directors. He was the General Secretary of the Jamaica Muslim Center and the Chairman of the JMC Board of Trustees, New York. Very recently, he served as the Chairman of the JMC Steering Committee, the JMC selection committee that selected the JMC BOT and EC members for 2026-2027, and the Chairman of the Al-Mamoor School Leadership Council, the council that elects Al-Mamoor School Board of Directors.
MAF Misbah Uddin, M.Sc(DU), M.S(USA)
Founding Trustee
MAF Misbah Uddin was born in Bangladesh. His father was a leader from Bengal who was jailed together with Mahatma Gandhi during British colonialism. MAF attended the University of Dhaka, where he attained two master’s degrees, the first in Applied Mathematics and the second in Demography, where he was first in his graduating class. He obtained his third master’s degree in actuarial science from Ball State University in Indiana. In 1988, he joined as an Actuary for the New York City’s five retirement systems. In 2000, Mr. Uddin was elected as the President of New York City Accountants & Actuaries Local 1407, the first Bangladeshi to lead a municipal labor union. In 2004, MAF Misbah Uddin became the Treasurer of DC 37, an umbrella organization of 62 Local unions with 150,000 members and 86,000 retirees. In 2008 he was elected as the Obama for President Delegate. The same year MAF established ASAAL, a labor and Community based organization for American politics with 22 Chapters in 12 States. In 2025, Governor Hochul appointed MAF as an NYAAPI Commission Member for five years.
Mohammad I. Rashed Rana, Pharm D., R Ph.

Mr. Rashed Rana, R.Ph. is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Long Island University. He is a registered pharmacist and owns his own pharmacy business. He was president of the Bangladeshi-American Pharmacists’ Association. He has served previously as a Director and the Vice Chairman of Al-Mamoor School Board of Directors and the Chairman of the AMS and the JMC Fundraising Committee. Currently he is Director of ASB and a member of the JMC Executive Committee.
Engr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin
Founding Trustee
Engineer Mr. Nashir Uddin is an engineer by profession. He is an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. He owns and operates his real estate development business. He is the secretary of the United Homeowners Association, NY, Joint Secretary of the Jamaica Muslim Center Executive Committee, and the Chairman of the Al-Mamoor Board Committee on Facilities Management. He is currently serving as the Vice Chairman of the ASB. Two of his children are attending Al-Mamoor School.
Mohammad Nurul Haque, R.Ph.
Founding Trustee
Mr. Mohammed Nurul Haque, R. Ph. is a registered Pharmacist in the state of New York. He received his B.Sc. (Hons) and M. Sc in Pharmacy from the Pharmacy Department Dhaka University. He is a Life member of the Jamaica Muslim Center and served this organization as a Vice- President, a member of the Executive Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees and as the chairman of the JMC Selection Committee. He also served as General
Secretary of LIMS, Vice President and General Secretary of
Bangladesh Society of New York and currently serving as President of BAPA.
Abul Kalam Khan M.Com.
Founding Trustee
Mr. Abul Kalam Khan is an accountant by profession. He manages his accounting office in Jamaica, Queens, New York serving numerous clients with reputation for many years . Mr. Khan received his B.Com(Hons) and M.Com from Department of Accounting, Dhaka University. He is a life member of the Jamaica Muslim Center and served three times as its Treasurer. Mr. Khan is philanthropist. He has his own charity in Bangladesh.
Dr. Mohamed S. Ahmed, MD
Founding Trustee
Dr. Mohamed S. Ahmed, MD, is a board certified physician in pain medicine and rehabilitation medicine. He currently works at the Bronx VA Hospital as a full-time physician since 2002. Dr. Ahmed is also an Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He served as the Vice-Chairman, JMC Board of Trustee, and a member of the JMC Selection Committee and now he is a JMC Board member.
Sami-ur-Rabb, M.S.
Founding Trustee
Sami Rabb received his High School degree from Stuyvesant, BA in Mathematics from Saint John’s University and M.S. degree in Finance from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business. He is a business professional with experience in Big Tech, Media & Advertising, Finance, and Education. He has worked & led teams in companies of various sizes, from community focused small businesses to tech startups, to companies with global operations & scale. Currently, he is a Vice President and Head of Marketing Science LiftLab Analytics.
Sami has strong ties to the Jamaica Muslim Center community as a Life Member of JMC and LIMS, a former youth educator at Khan’s Tutorial Jamaica for the early part of his career, & as the MSA President at St. John’s University. He currently resides in Levittown NY with his wife and three young children.

Mohammad A. Rahman Sabu, R. Ph. is a registered Pharmacist in the state of New York. He received his B.Sc. (Hons) and M. Sc in Pharmacy from the Pharmacy Department Dhaka University. He is a Life member of the Jamaica Muslim Center and currently serving as a member of the Board of Trustees. Previously, he served this organization as a Vice- Chairman and a member of the Board of Trustees
Fahim Hotaki

Mr. Fahim Hotaki is a New York based entrepreneur and committed community advocate who believes in investing in both local business growth and educational development. As a business owner, he upholds values of service, responsibility, and long term community engagement.
He is a dedicated and generous supporter of Al-Mamoor School ,where his children are enrolled. Deeply invested in the school’s continued growth and excellence, Mr. Hotaki actively contributes his time and leadership as a member of the AMS Campus Safety Committee. In this role, he supports initiatives that promote student safety, collaboration, and a nurturing learning environment.
His continued involvement reflects a sincere commitment to strengthening community institutions and helping cultivate a positive, values driven environment for future generations.
Mrs. Valeriya Pinkhasova

Sister Valeriya Pinkhasova (Mrs. Hotaki) is a devoted homemaker, entrepreneur, and community philanthropist whose journey to Islam has deeply shaped her values and outlook on life. She has a longstanding interest in the fields of biology and psychology, reflecting a deep appreciation for understanding both the human mind and overall well-being. Her curiosity and faith guide her thoughtful approach to family life, community involvement, and personal growth.
